A favourite South African past time - Cricket - one of our national sports!!!

This is my son, Ethan, batting in his very first cricket match for his school team.

They play a revised version of the game at their age - called mini cricket. Each boy gets a chance to bat for a certain amount of balls. The amount of runs they score are allocated to their team. If their wickets are hit during their turn then runs are deducted from the total. - Similar to how action Cricket or indoor cricket is scored.

They played against St Dunstans, a rival school, on Wednesday afternoon. Our boys lost the game by a few runs but they played really well and enjoyed themselves.....which for me is the key to any sport!
