To All my Am3 friends,
Thanks for all the comments on yesterday's post. I'm so glad you liked my little batman...he sure has fun when he's dressed up in that suit! :) I must apologise for not replying to all of your comments, the end of year activities are flourishing at the boys' school which leaves me a little pressed for time, but I do greatly appreciate your interest in my pictures and will definitely try to respond to as many of your comments as possible.
My lack of time also extends from my being in the process of trying to get a new camera....I dropped my baby ~ my Nikon D70 ~ in July at my friends baby's baptism and it had to be repaired.......needless to say after getting it back it hasn't been performing as it should. So, after taking it back to Nikon to be checked, again, they have rendered it uneconomical to repair. So now I await the insurance company's verdict on the quotes I submitted for a D80.... I really hope they reply today as I need the camera for my wedding on Saturday. :)
A few weeks ago the boys were riding around outside...after all the fun all that remained was the bike!!! The boys had found other things to entertain themselves with.
Thank You so much for visiting and commenting on my blog!! It is greatly appreciated.
I am away for the next week and have posted till I come back. I hope you enjoy the images!!! I will catch up with all of your blogs when I get back.
Have an awesome week everyone! :)
you do the saturation thing really well. Hope you get a new and better camera.

@Rags: Hey Rags, Thanks so much - this one isn't actually saturated - just used the focal black and white here....the blue on the bike was bright enough that it stood out perfectly without me needing to saturate.:).
Thanks for visiting....and I too hope that I'll get the new and better camera!! ;) hahaha
haha.. that's how long the toys last with little kids! :-) The blue is great!

Good luck with the insurance company! The shadows here are wonderful and make this take special.

Good luck with the D80. I use a D40 and XTi for many of my pix--I just love the D40; if the 80 is anything like it, you're in for a treat! I really like this pic--it reminds me of the long summer days when the kids come in from a day in the sun, exhausted and tanned.

@Brian: Hey Brian. Thanks so much. The insurance have now decided that I need to bring my camera in to them and they will evaluate if it really is uneconomical to repair. So because I don't have time on my side I have had to splash out on the D80 in the meantime and now I can only pray that they will reimburse me after they have completed their assessment of the damage. from the few pictures I have already shot with the D80, I am TOTALLY blown away. It's So delightful!!! Look out for the posts of some of the shots on saturday and sunday!! :)
I wish you good luck on your quest to get a new camera. This image is really nice with good PP done.

Excellent use of b&w fade again - you have a real knack for it. I just got Photoshop and plan to install tonight, time permitting (always a problem - planned to install last night too). Can't wait to try it out - thanks for your suggestions!

@Walt: Hey Walt!1 Thanks so much. Good luck with the install!! :) Can't wait to see what you do with it.
Neatly work. Good luck with the insurance company. Looking forward to see your nice photos with the new cam.

I love this image! It is so typical of kids to leave their bikes like that on the sidewalk and run in for something. Then run back out and on it again.

Mandy, thanks for your prayers and wishes for our son. He's doing reasonably well today - still pain, but getting grouchy, a sign of improving health they say. Heh. I like your bike shot. Am sorry about your D70, but do hope you can parlay that into a D80 (you'll love it, but it might be slightly heavier than your D70 -- it's a bit heavier than the D50 I had but not too bad). Here's hoping your insurance is agreeable. Blessings.

@Viewfinder: Hey VF. I'm glad to hear your son is on the mend...I will keep praying for him. The insurance is still up in the air, but I have had to bite the bullet and get the D80 anyway because of my commitments for the weekend..... You're right it is heavier, but boy what a treat!!! It is a magnificent machine. I am loving it and I have only had it a few hours!!! Haven't even really had time to play with it properly yet!! I've posted a few "macro" shots for the weekend that I took tonight whilst testing it on the flowers in my kitchen.
And now I wait to take the D70 to the insurers for them to assess whether it really is uneconomical to fix and await their verdict...only then will I know if they will pay for the new D80. But none the less, it was a GREAT buy!! I never realised just how faulty my D70 was until I saw the results of the D80 on my computer screen. Thanks for the well wishes. Blessings to you and your family, my friend!! :)
lol :-) This really is a picture that speaks countless words, dear friend!!, of little boys growing up into bigger boys and all that that entails, whoaaa!! :) It certainly brings back memories, from all those many years ago, of my older brother getting into all sorts of adventures on his bike (and off) :)
Really hope everything turns out well for you on the prospective D80, and a very blessed wedding in any case :) . God bless always, dear friend. :)

The bike is well photographed, but I'm wondering if you could have included some extra element to tell even more of a story, even if you'd had to put it there yourself. In other words, I find this alright, although it doesn't speak enough to me.
Waiting to see the photos from the new camera that you'll get...
