A True Smile

I had the privilege of shooting a wedding on saturday afternoon for the daughter of a very dear couple in our church. Myrtle and her husband Bunny were so thrilled at their daughter, Shannon's, wedding and the joy was contagious!!! It was one of the nicest weddings I've done. Everyone was so relaxed and you could really feel the love!

I'm really hoping that I managed to capture some of their joy in the shots I took......this one, for me, is what a bride should look like on her big day....Full of joy and love.........it just oozes out of her don't you think?

this is the first in a series I will be doing from the wedding over the next couple of days! I hope you enjoy the results as much as I enjoyed the wedding.

The backdrop of purple flowers really makes for a beautiful image. She is a joyfully radiant bride.

I salute your wedding photo skills Mandy. Once upon a time I used to do some weddings for friends, from the film photography end (and not the ministry end), and while it was kind of enjoyable it was also very stressful for me. I was always terrified of the "what ifs...?" -- as in, "what if I can't get the good pics? What if the film is bad, or I loaded it wrong and it jams? What if they all get red eye? What if...etc." They ever come to visit you, those "what ifs"? I think digital wedding shooting would dispel most of them for me now, but now I have a different role...

@Viewfinder: Hey VF!! Thanks so much. Oh those "What if's" visit me all the time...even now with digital, it's much easier though because you can at least see if you're getting the shot so it takes A LOT of the stress away, but I still have the stress of worrying that I might miss one of the big moments - the kiss...etc!!1 hahha And then of course there's the worry that you might not have enough different poses!!! :)

So from what you said in your comment can I deduce that you're a minister now? That is totally awesome if you are! :)

Mandy - good job! I did my first ( and maybe only,LOL ) wedding this summer and was petrified!! The pics came out terrific and I ended up completely pleased with the results - as did the bride and her groom - but man, was I nervous. You have a lot of responsibility riding on wedding shots.

I look forward to seeing some more!
